Hi Everyone!
I just got off the air with Ric and our special guest host Bill Scott. What an experience this has been. The beautiful faces of those children are still swimming in front of me tugging at my heart to take action.
As many of you know, our family sponsors a child in Indonesia, he’s been part of our family for over ten years now. My boys have grown up knowing they have an “older brother” halfway across the world, sharing letters, pictures and prayers. He is now attending Univerisity and focuses many of his letters asking about his “little brothers in Christ”.
It looks like there will soon be an addition to our family. My boys have been asking for a little sister. Look around the website for a picture of beautiful Yeamilaksira Gashaw of Ethiopia. If God speaks to you, urging you to take up the call to compassion, consider this precious child.
It’s taken me a long time to post my first “blog”. This Compassion Marathon was my inspiration. God has blessed me in so many ways by being part of this ministry. It is my prayer to bring blessings to these children by encouraging God’s people to extend the hand of Compassion today.
Signing off for now, but I’ll keep in touch! God Bless,
Ann

You and I can make a difference in the life of one child in Jesus name.

Yes, in spite of these horrid living conditions God is there. He is loving and taking care of these little children through the Body of Christ. Consider becoming a sponsor for one or more children through Compassion International. Check on the Compassion link on this web site for more information.

Maybe God is calling you to be involved in the life a child who lives in a similar situation. One of the children in this picture has a sponsor through Compassion International.
The mother in this picture is living in this “house” with three children. The father has died of HIV Aids. The Light will be broadcasting a Compassion Marathon later this month. Pray for His guidance as to how you and your family or church can be a part of releasing a child from poverty in Jesus name.

As read on The Good Morning Radio Show on Wednesday morning, August 13th. A number of people called the station afterwards and asked for a copy. Enjoy.
Once upon a time, The Little Red Hen called all of her liberal neighbors together and said, “If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?”
“Not I,” said the cow.
“Not I,” said the duck.
“Not I,” said the pig.
“Not I,” said the goose.
“Then I will do it by myself,” said the little red hen; and so she did. The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.
“Who will help me reap my wheat?” asked the little red hen.
“Not I,” said the duck.
“Out of my classification,” said the pig.
“I’d lose my seniority,” said the cow.
“I’d lose my unemployment compensation,” said the goose.
“Then I will do it by myself,” said the little red hen, and so she did.
At last it came time to bake the bread.
“Who will help me bake the bread?” asked the little red hen.
“That would be overtime for me,” said the cow.
“I’d lose my welfare benefits,” said the duck.
“I’m a dropout and never learned how,” said the pig.
“If I’m to be the only helper, that’s discrimination,” said the goose.
“Then I will do it by myself,” said the little red hen.
She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, “No, I shall eat all five loaves.”
“Excess profits!” cried the cow.
“Capitalist leech!” screamed the duck.
“I demand equal rights!” yelled the goose.
The pig just grunted in disdain.
And they all painted “Unfair!” picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.
Then the farmer came. He said to the little red hen, “You must not be so greedy.”
“But I earned the bread,” said the little red hen.
“Exactly,” said the farmer. “That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle.”
And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, “I am grateful, for now I truly understand.”
But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the ‘party’ and got her bread free. And all the liberals smiled. “fairness” had been established in the barnyard.
